REPEL'EM
Description:
Repel'em was originally developed to combat the biting "Yellow fly" and mosquito problems. It was formulated to have a non-petrochemical base that would also act as a skin conditioner and healing ointment for soothing irritated skin. It was so successful when used on people that it was tested on animals as well and found to have an unusually long-lasting repellent activity. This product was originally sold under the names "Good-bye Yellow Fly" and "Natural One".
Endorsed and recommended by the Zoo Foundation of Alabama.
Favorite uses:
It's aloe base makes it an excellent first aid for bites or stings.
When sprayed on an animals coat, it adheres longer than other repellents and keeps off mosquitoes and other biting insects including ticks and fleas.
When massaged into the animal's ears it will help to heal existing sores and protect those sensitive areas from further bites.
On top of all that, it is pleasant smelling and not oily. Try it!
Ingredients:
Aloe: The healing properties of aloe vera have been recognized since the early 1800's and it has often been referred to as the "Medicine Plant".
Citronella: Oil of citronella has been used for over 50 years as an insect repellant and shows little or no toxicity.
Capsicum (Capsicum furtescens): The red chili pepper, is the source of capsaicin which has been used as an insect and bird repellent.
Herbs and Essential Oils: The actual identities of these are proprietary, sorry. All are safe, but if you have any doubts about allergies, test a small amount of Repel'em on you and your animal's skin before applying.
Directions:
The concentrate can be used directly or diluted with water (1:1) and sprayed or wiped on the skin.
For Horses: Make sure not to get in the eyes and apply as evenly as possible. The product is formulated to adhere to the hair and absorb so that it will remain active as a repellent for several days or longer.
For Dogs or Cats: Works best to apply the concentrate immediately after bathing the animal. While the pet is still damp, apply Repel'em and massage into the skin, avoiding eyes. Can also be sprayed on the pet directly.
For First Aid: Apply lotion directly to area of bug bite or sting. This will reduce swelling, stop itching, and begin a healing process. Repel'em also helps in preventing skin allergies such as poison ivy and poison oak.
